Wrapped in Whiteousness: Worship, Liturgy and Race
Western Christianity is a racialized history with biblical images of light and dark mapped positively and negatively to race: whiteness and blackness. Some Christian worship practices re-inscribe racism instead of disrupting racism. The interactive session will examine disruptive preaching, teaching, hymns, imagery, and liturgical practices. Presented by Jemonde Taylor.
